"Wow, I wish I could say it wasn't my fault, but how can I not blame myself? If I hadn't gone out that night at all, none of that would've happened." Cam sighed and looked up to the sky now. She really wished she could just go along with it all. She wished she could look up into the sky and say that God was taking care of her parents and Tallie at that very moment. Too bad she never went to church as a kid or else she'd be able to do that so easily.
She looked over at Beth. Damn, all the secrets hit the table with this girl. It had to keep Cam human. Real friends did come every ocne in a while and Beth had proved herself to be one. "Oh God, you're father's really fucked up Beth. If I saw him now, I'd ruin him for you." Cam had to smile at that. With power came the belief that you could bring anyone down. Manipulation was a beautiful game and Cam knew it so well. She wished she could encounter Beth's dad just to make him wish he was never born.
"Okay, let's make a pact then. I mean look at us, letting ourselves be held back because of the past! Let's not blame ourselves. Let's remember that we're the best of the best. Who cares that we're stuck in shitty Blue Heights Montana! We're Cam Hughes and Beth Langston and nothing can stop us!" Cam put it out there. She could be a tad overly confident from time to time, but now seemed worthy of her words.

Beth nodded as Cam talked. It surprised her how much they had in common. How much they wished away the pain that they each shared. "Hey now, Cam. It really isn't your fault. I wish you'd believe it!", she exclaimed with a smile. The black-haired beauty ran a hand through her hair before looking back at her new, true blue, friend.
Beth laughed when Cam talked about messing up her father. "Well, you'll have to answer to the beer, but I bet a prada purse would fix him up good." She smiled. Beth hadn't been this happy or this comfortable around another girl in a while. Her last best friend was in seventh grade, and she was kind of a bitch.
There was a small silence as Cam's rant rang out, but Beth felt exactly the same way. "Yeah! None of these bitches can scratch us!", Beth added with another smile. She thought about the pact. It was actually true. Sometimes, Beth admitted that she lived in the past a little too much. Oh, well.

Cam laughed now, "Oh God Beth, trust me when school kicks in. No one messes with Cam Hughes. I'm going to own Blue Heights. It looks like you will too." Cam smiled. It felt good, like being an almost co-leader. Well, Cam was always the leader. But, it was good to have a friend like Beth who seemed up there at a decent almost equal.
"These bitches haven't seen anything yet." She laughed her girlish laugh. Not only was Cam the perfect candidate for ruling, but she also had power written in bold print across her face. Her perfectly pedigree Hughes face spoke for her. Cam knew that Beth obviously hadn't been into the big beautiful life yet, but she made a promise to herself right then and there that when she made it back up to the top of the world, she'd go ahead and give Beth a lift up too.
"Okay, enough of this feeling sorry for our poor pathetic lives shit. That's going to just be part of our past. Let's get back to the dirt girl. You and I, we're going to rock Blue Heights. First, we need matches for the fire though." Cam's eyes were full of mischeif. Oh, the drama they could inflict. Cam was back in her game now.

Beth laughed. "Huh. Well I guess that someone else besides Gabby will rule the school this year. This should bring some conflict." For a second, Beth regretted saying that. Her and Gabby used to be friends, once upon a time, and popularity had kicked in a bit. No, Beth wasn't calling Gabby a bad person, she was calling popularity a bad person. When Cam talked about Beth helping her rule Blue Heights, she was a bit uneasy, but that was alright.
"I guess they'll see something with you around." Beth listened to her girly laugh and couldn't help but giggle. Listening to such an intimidating person spill their guts and then laugh like an idiot sure was a sight. Cam wasn't the girl that Beth thought she would be. No, not at all.
"Oh, I see. We'll rock Blue Heights with someone by our side? Huh. I guess you probably guessed who I wish was my guy. But, how about you?" Beth really hadn't heard Cam talk about any interests she might've had.

Cam could not help but wear a particularly smug smile now, "Well Honey, the one and only Cam hughes can't be tied down by one guy, ever. I choose toys and my first happens to be Dean Somers. I met him when I got here and wow, just wow. I don't know his story but the cover sure as hell looks nice." Cam winked. She couldn't help herself. Back home, she was called the whore for having so many boys around all the time. She knew better though, Cam just had toys. Wasn't everyone just a pawn in her game though?
"You and my 'brother' going to work out then? Ran, God, I still can't get used to actually having him around as a brother now days." Cam sighed. It was so weird. Not only were her parents gone, but Ran was the one they'd entrusted their two precious twins to. Cam had begun wondering if her parents did drugs or soemthing...
